                    Kitsap County USBC Bowling Association Minutes of the Annual Membership Meeting                                    Held January 9th, 2016 at All Star Lanes, Silverdale, Wa. 98383 1.  The meeting was called to order by the President at 10:02 AM. 2.  Roll Call of Officers: Members absent were Directors Al Clay and Leo Ellis. It was reported that Leo Ellis is no longer planning to be on the board.     Member excused was Association Manager Earle Sears. Guests present at the meeting were Jody Aaro and Don Allen. 3.  A motion was made by Bill Bachteler and seconded by Perry Hedstrom to dispense with the reading of the minutes as everyone should have a copy.      Motion passed. 4.  Committee Reports:     A.  Audit Committee – Committee Chairman Ron Sears reported that the annual audit was held the first week of August 2015.           A couple of discrepancies were noted but resolved by the committee prior to the end of the audit.           (Changing banks in the middle of the season was part of the issue.)     B.  Budget & Finance – The annual budget was presented and discussed. A motion was made by Norm Cox and seconded by Perry Hedstrom to accept          the annual budget as submitted. Motion passed.     C.  Hall of Fame – Committee Chairman Perry Hedstrom reported that two individuals were elected by the board to the Hall of Fame for 2016.           They are Robert Zurbrugg and Richard Luikko. They will be inducted before the Team squad on Saturday January 23rd during the            Annual Championship Tournament.     D.  Tournament – Committee Chairman Ron Sears reported that the Annual Championship Tournament will be held at All Star Lanes the last three           weekends of January (16, 17, 23, 24, 30 & 31). A request was made to have a separate paper written explaining how the           “Jay Sampson Memorial Team All Events” will be determined.  Ron will write it up and post it with the entries up in the tournament office.     E.  Juniors – Committee Chairman Jeremy Ellis reported that the juniors have several events coming up. Travel League was bowling           Sunday 1/10 at Narrows in Tacoma.  The Kitsap County Youth Tournament will be held February 6, 7, 13 & 14 at Hi-Joy Bowl.           The Kitsap Junior Masters will be held April 2nd & 3rd at Hi-Joy Bowl. And currently all juniors are qualifying for the “Pepsi” Tournament.     F.  Nominations – Committee Chairman Norm Cox reported that the position of Vice President and four Directors positions were up for election.           We had three Directors up for re-election and one open position. They three were Bill Bachteler, Chuck Linne and Michael Craig. Mr. Don Allen           had contacted Mr. Cox requesting his name be added to the ballot for the open position. As no other nominations were received from the floor,           the four people were unanimously voted into the positions.  Norm Cox was on the ballot for Vice President. Jeremy Ellis requested his name           be added to the ballot for the position. After the ballots were tallied, there was a tie for the position. It was decided by the entire group           in attendance to allow the Association Manager to cast the deciding vote.  Earle Sears was contacted and his vote was for Norm Cox           to be re-elected to the position of Vice President. 5.  New Business:      A.  Jeremy Ellis reported that he created a FACEBOOK page for the association. It is called “Kitsap County Bowling Association”.            He requested that people send him videos or pictures of bowlers and their achievements for posting on the page so that we can get more attention            for the sport and our local bowlers.     B.  Merger Committee member Leo Funari reported that he has a copy of the Women’s By-Laws and is working on a “merged” set of By-Laws. There being no further business, a motion was made by Perry Hedstrom and seconded by Leo Funari to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 10:55 AM.
